As of this writing, the MCA board is finalizing a solution to the Pro Division schedule. As a consequence, the Pro and Gold division matchups and schedules are subject to change. Regardless, players should be ready for tournament action to begin at 8 a.m. each day. The MCA asks that players plan to arrive 30 minutes before their first game.
LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo.—Because heavy rains this week have caused poor court conditions, the MCA is canceling the 2019 Lee's Summit T-Bone Croquet Tournament.
Organizers have compared the field where the courts were to be located to a marsh this week. Today, the courts look too wet and muddy to prepare and provide a fun croquet experience.

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo.—Midwest Croquet Association members decided to revamp the format of the 2019 Lee's Summit T-Bone Croquet Tournament during the Annual General Meeting on Saturday.
But the MCA needs your help, quickly.
The MCA is asking that members recruit a partner to participate in a Member-Guest-style doubles tournament. Consider this year's Lee's Summit T-Bone Croquet Tournament to be a "high-low" tournament in which a more-skilled player is paired with a less-skilled player. Or think of it like a Pro-Am tournament.
The goal is to kick off the croquet season alongside friends, significant others or relatives who don't often find themselves running three-ball breaks. We want others to experience the game and the MCA. The event will be fun, social, interactive and less competitive than MCA Nine Wicket Series events of the past.
Parkville, Mo.—Eight Pro Division players and five Gold Division players have one more shot to take home some 2018 MCA Nine Wicket Series prizes this Saturday at Kactus Creek Croquet Club.
Results at the MCA Championship tournament will determine tournament winners and runners-up as well as the winners of the season-long points races.

LEE'S SUMMIT, MO -- Final details are now in for the first event of the 2014 MCA Nine-Wicket Series. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17 ay Howard Park in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The address is 3498 NE Independence Avenue and entry is $25 with lunch included, but MCA members are discounted to $15 per entry.
We plan to run Pro, Gold and a new Silver Division intended for beginner level players. The number of divisions will be based on player sign-ups.

BELTON, MO -- Bill Berg reported yesterday that an agreement to hold the 2014 MCA Championship at Markey Park in Belton, MO with the Belton Parks and Recreation Department has been reached. The event will be held Saturday, September 13 and will be for the top qualifiers in the respective MCA Nine-Wicket Series points races. Players must be members to participate in the MCA Championship, but there is no entry fee.
The event will be one week prior to the USCA's Nine Wicket National Championship which is set for September 19-21 in the Kansas City area. The MCA Championship should provide a good warm-up for that event.
Behind the scenes, the MCA is also close to announcing another regular season event. The target for 2014 is four regular season events in addition to the MCA Championship.

LEAWOOD, KS -- All feedback to date has indicated a preference to keep the MCA Championship on September 13 for 2014. This is the second weekend following Labor Day and the idea is to establish this as the annual target for the event.
All members are encouraged to provide feedback this week (kccroquetclub@gmail.com) as the the MCA would like to move forward on securing a venue and establishing the full season schedule.
LEE'S SUMMIT, MO - MCA member Ron Millican has announced that the 2014 Lee's Summit T-Bone Tournament will be held May 17 at Howard Park in Lee's Summit, MO. This is the same location the event was held in 2013. The event is part of the MCA Tour Nine-Wicket Series and is hosted by Ron and Deborah Millican and Greg and Jodi Adams. Lunch is not included, but there will be a gap provided for all players and there plenty of restaurant options near the facility. The event is free for qualified MCA members. Non-members that have qualified will simply need to join the MCA and can do that by paying the membership fee of $20 Saturday morning.

The Pro Division has eight players and will be a random draw for three rounds based on matching players to the win level. To help avoid repeat matchups, round one was randomly drawn as hi vs low based subjective rankings. Random.org was used to generate the random numbers to set the first round matchups. A die will be used to set the matchups for rounds two and three. All players will advance to the playoff and will be seeded according to record. Tie-breaker is head-to-head, gross points, net points, stake lag.
